PITTSBURGH -- Alcoa Foundation announced today that it has awarded a $3,000 grant to Penn State University's Dickinson School of Law located in Carlisle, Pennsylvania, to be used as a scholarship to recognize a student who is both academically deserving and community minded.

The grant is part of Alcoa Foundation's commitment to actively invest in the quality of life in Alcoa communities worldwide.

"This scholarship will attract a student with outstanding academic credentials and a demonstrated commitment to community service, bringing the Alcoa Foundation to the attention of our future leaders," says Susan A. Bogart, director of financial aid for The Dickinson School of Law.

About The Dickinson School of Law

The Dickinson School of Law was founded by The Honorable John Reed in 1834, making it the oldest law school in Pennsylvania and the fifth oldest in the nation. With the merger of The Dickinson School of Law and Penn State University in 2000, the law school embarked on a new chapter in its history. While it still produces exemplary legal practitioners with a high bar passage rate and the ability to self-confidently take up the reins of legal practice, it has added the global and technological perspectives of a major research university.
