Sane Solutions, developers of the NetTracker(R) line of Web analytics software, and SurfControl, the world leader in enterprise Web and e-mail filtering, today announced a new OEM partnership. Under the agreement, Sane Solutions will package and sell the SurfControl URL category database in an optional component for the NetTracker line of Internet usage tracking solutions.

The NetTracker line, most commonly used for analyzing online behavior on Internet, intranet and extranet sites, also delivers proxy server and firewall traffic reporting, allowing organizations to analyze their employees' behavior out on the Web. The new proxy server/firewall analysis add-on module, the NetTracker Data Conduit for SurfControl, leverages the SurfControl database to categorize restricted or otherwise undesirable Web sites viewed by employees on the Web in the NetTracker Site Category Summary. HR and IT managers can immediately drill into this report to investigate potentially undesirable Internet usage that could pose productivity, legal, network or security threats within the organization.

SurfControl maintains the largest, most-thoroughly customizable database of high-risk Web content. It contains more than 40 organized categories of potentially undesirable Web sites and pages including adult/sexually explicit, gambling, job search and career development, and so on. The database is kept accurate and up to date through a combination of artificial intelligence and human review by SurfControl's global content team, which tracks and analyzes new Web content on a daily basis.
