Business Wire, Oct 5, 2004

CAMBRIDGE, Mass. -- Free Download of Systinet Developer for Eclipse Provides Seamless Standards-based Web Services Creation, Debugging and Deployment to Popular Eclipse IDE

Systinet, the leading foundation for SOA governance and lifecycle management, today announced the release of Systinet Developer for Eclipse 5.0, which features full Web services support of the Eclipse IDE, the first and only product on the market today to support version 3 of the popular open source development environment. Systinet Developer for Eclipse 5.0, a companion product to Systinet's award-winning Systinet Server for Java, is available as a free download.

Systinet Developer for Eclipse 5.0 is designed to make it easy to create, test, debug, deploy and publish Java Web services, all from within the familiar environment of the Eclipse IDE. Creating a Web service from an existing Java application is a point-and-click experience that takes a matter of minutes. Systinet Developer supports the latest Web services standards, including WS-Security and WS-I Basic Profile, and automates the publication of a service to a UDDI-compliant registry.

Systinet Developer for Eclipse 5.0 also supports all versions of the Eclipse IDE, including the latest Eclipse 3.0 release. Systinet, which already boasts a developer community of more than 50,000 registered users, is a member of Eclipse Foundation and chose to support Eclipse in this latest release as part of its ongoing commitment to the advancement and expansion of Web services development. Eclipse Foundation, is made up of more than 50 member companies and hosts six major Open Source projects that include 30 subprojects.

"We are pleased that Systinet has included support for Eclipse in this latest version of Systinet Developer," said Mike Milinkovich, Executive Director of Eclipse Foundation. "Web services and SOA is becoming increasingly important for the Eclipse community. Systinet's web services development tools for SOA is an important extension to the Eclipse ecosystem. We look forward to their participation in the Eclipse community to further advance the area of web services tooling."

"The rate at which Eclipse has grown over the past two years, in terms of both users and influence, has been remarkable," Systinet CEO Thomas Erickson said. "As the leading independent vendor for Web services development, the notion of a powerful yet simple-to-use tool like Developer supporting the Eclipse environment was a natural step in the evolution of our product family."

Systinet Developer for Eclipse 5.0's major features include:

-- Automated Web Service Client Generation: Systinet Developer generates the Web service client proxy and can also generate a simple client test application, both automatically from WSDL.

-- Full Web Service Debugging: Allows both client and server-side Web service debugging. Server side debugging can be performed remotely and in any environment (e.g. BEA WebLogic or IBM WebSphere).

-- Flexible Web Service Packaging and Deployment: Web services can be easily placed in a Web service package (standard JAR file with the deployment descriptor) and deployed to any Systinet Server runtime.

-- Full UDDI Integration: Fully integrates with UDDI and automates querying and publication to the registry.
