TRADE NEWS: Agilent Technologies Introduces Industry's Highest-Density 1U-High DC Power Supply with Multiple Standard I/O
Business Wire, Sept 1, 2004
PALO ALTO, Calif. -- Expanded Power Supply Portfolio Offers Affordable, Single-Output, Basic Power Capabilities that Simplify, Speed Test-System Development
Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE:A) today introduced the Agilent N5700 Series system DC power supply which offers the industry's highest power density with up to 1500W in a space-saving 1U-high (1-EIA rack unit) package with PC standard input/output (I/O) including LAN, USB and GPIB. The N5700 Series consists of 24 single-output programmable power supply models that expand Agilent's portfolio by offering affordable basic power capabilities in the medium-power range to simplify and speed test system development for R&D, design validation and manufacturing engineers in the aerospace and defense, automotive, component and communications industries.
"Customers value a reliable power supply that is easy to use and easy to integrate with just enough performance to meet their testing needs," said Scott Sampl, vice president of Agilent's Basic, Emerging, and System Technologies Division. "Engineers who need basic power capabilities will find Agilent's N5700 DC supplies to be an affordable, compact 1U solution with many built-in features that greatly simplify operation."
The N5700 Series consists of 24 power supply models that provide stable output power and built-in voltage and current measurement from 6V to 600V and 1.3A to 180A. For greater flexibility, power supply instruments can be configured in parallel or series operation for greater output current or voltage. All models have universal AC input with power factor correction so they can be automatically operated from any AC mains input voltage worldwide.
The Agilent N5700 Series power supply offers many system-ready features to simplify test-system development. Its small, 1U-high, 19-inch wide package has no top or bottom air vents, so other instruments can be stacked directly above or below it to save valuable rack space. The power supply's LAN, USB and GPIB standard interfaces enable fast, easy, low-cost connectivity to a PC or other instruments in a test system, and give engineers the flexibility to use their I/O interface of choice today and in the future. The Agilent N5700 Series can be remotely operated and monitored from any Web browser via a built-in Web server and graphical user interface.
