TEKLYNX announces driver support for Monarch 9855 RFID Printer; CODESOFT 7.1 label design software supports new RFID printer and UHF tags
Business Wire, Sept 1, 2004
MILWAUKEE -- TEKLYNX(R) International, the world's leading developer of software products for the AIDC marketplace, today announced that CODESOFT(R) 7.1 Enterprise label design and integration software supports the new Monarch(R) 9855(TM) RFID table top bar code printer. The Monarch 9855 printer/encoder accepts information from CODESOFT 7.1, completes a "live" test of the RFID chip, encodes the chip within the label, prints the bar code and human readable data, and verifies that the information is properly "written" to the tag. Both CODESOFT 7.1 and the Monarch 9855 RFID printer support EPC 915 MHz, UHF Class 1 (draft specification) and Alien Technology tags.
"We're pleased to have TEKLYNX as our partner in RFID printing and encoding systems," said Rick Bauer, Paxar's senior director, RFID Technical Research. "CODESOFT 7.1 Enterprise label design and integration software, coupled with our Monarch 9855 RFID printer/ encoder, gives our joint customers a world class, leading edge solution for RFID labeling implementation that can be easily integrated into their existing systems."
The CODESOFT 7.1 Enterprise version, released in July, offers additional industry-leading RFID enhancements, including:
--An easy-to-use interface for RFID tag setup and programming;
--The ability to use a graphical tag image that appears as a watermark on labels to protect against printing over and damaging the RF tags;
--An RFID label printing solution to enable read/write printers to read the data back from the label at print time to log the exact information stored on each label.
CODESOFT 7.1 users can update the Monarch 9855 RFID printer drivers and tag formats through TEKLYNX' DSP (Driver Service Pack) free online service. The TEKLYNX' DSP allows TEKLYNX resellers, system integrators and users to easily download and install the latest drivers and formats as needed as RFID hardware and standards continue to evolve.
