AudioAudit Introduces Cue Sheet Reporting Software Analytic at 2004 Summer Olympics; Music Tracking System Utilized by NBC Sports Produces Cue Sheet for 16,000 Non-Feature Music Performances

Business Wire, Sept 13, 2004

ARAMUS, N.J. -- Successful Introduction of Software Analytic Represents a Major Breakthrough for Cue Sheet Reporting

AudioAudit(TM), the leading media verification company, announced today that it successfully introduced a break-through automated broadcast music management system at the 2004 Summer Olympics. The system was utilized by NBC Sports to streamline its cue sheet reporting and more accurately track all non-feature music performances used in the network's Summer Olympics coverage from Athens, Greece. Monitoring 17 days and 1,200 hours of Olympic broadcast coverage, the AudioAudit music management system generated a cue sheet report identifying 16,000 non-feature music cues.

Cue sheet reporting marks a new application for AudioAudit's AdVantage(R) broadcast technology platform and services, a proprietary analytic software program that has made its mark as a tool to track whether television commercials air as scheduled. By using AdVantage to track non-feature music, broadcasters will benefit from an automated and accurate tracking and reporting of all fingerprinted musical content and compositions used for broadcast.

AudioAudit's cue sheet reporting analytic works in tandem with music detections captured by UK-based mobile music recognition provider Shazam(TM). In May 2004, AudioAudit and Shazam announced a partnership under which AudioAudit takes non-feature and background music detections watermarked and captured by Shazam and turns them into actionable reports providing significant benefits for composers in the form of more rapid and thorough tracking of usage and royalty reporting.

Gary Zenkel, NBC's Executive Vice President, Olympics, said: "AudioAudit's work for NBC Sports at the Olympics provided an effective mix of technology and business services that enhanced our music management and cue sheet reporting efforts. It helped improve productivity and increase efficiency, ensuring accuracy in reporting and compliance for NBC Sports."

Paul Hummel, president and CEO of AudioAudit, said: "By providing state-of-the-art technology to improve music administration and reporting processes, AudioAudit can enhance broadcaster compliance with performing rights organizations such as BMI, ASCAP and SESAC, as well as broadcasters' business relationships with composers and music publishers. At the Olympics, AudioAudit worked closely with NBC Sports to fully understand their needs and requirements, enabling them to leverage our technology and services to create the most effective music management services solution available."

AudioAudit has developed these advanced technologies through its 'mission of quality' approach in which the company continually analyzes media and business communications processes of all broadcast industry sectors. "This has yielded unique and objective insight into the operating dilemmas faced by all industry players, and enabled AudioAudit to launch innovative technology and processes to resolve them," Hummel added.

Scott Schreer, senior executive vice president of music for AudioAudit added: "Working with NBC Sports and Olympics utilizing our AdVantage platform is the dawn of a new age for music cue sheet compliance for all broadcasters and networks alike."

About AudioAudit

AudioAudit's AdVantage(R) platform is built on a patented process that takes broadcast content from encoding and distribution through airing and detection by a national network of monitoring sites. AdVantage provides mission-critical analytics that make this overnight, "In-Flight Reporting," actionable and impactful. AdVantage is also compliant with Ad-ID, the advertising digital identification system developed by the Association of National Advertisers (ANA) and the American Association of Advertising Agencies (AAAA). AudioAudit provides similar analytic reporting to broadcasters in the form of NetVantage, which enables broadcasters to provide superior schedule maintenance to advertisers, expedite advertiser payments and reduce credits.
