PowerByHand's eReader.com Announces Bestselling eBooks for August; Authors and Publishers Direct Website Visitors to eReader.com for eBook Purchases
Business Wire, Sept 14, 2004
DURHAM, N.C. -- PowerByHand, the premier provider of mobile content and solutions, today announced the top ten bestselling fiction and nonfiction eBooks for the month of August from its eReader.com division (formerly Palm Digital Media), the world's largest and most popular electronic bookstore.
Fiction top sellers continued to be dominated by author Dan Brown, with four of his titles in the eReader.com Top 10 list. Brown is one of many authors and publishers that drive eBook purchases from their own website to eReader.com. For example, visitors to Brown's site at www.danbrown.com can purchase his eBook titles at eReader.com with a few simple clicks. Merriam Webster, Inc. is also one of many publishers that provide a direct link from their website to the eReader bookstore.
"Directing eBook purchases from their website to eReader.com is an easy and convenient way for authors and publishers to make their titles available for immediate download 24 hours a day, seven days a week," said Mike Violano, vice president and general manager at eReader.com. "We welcome and encourage all authors and publishers to link to eReader.com to enable customers to get their titles in eReader format."
Three new titles hit the bestselling fiction list in August: "Hawke," a first novel by Ted Bell; "Brimstone," the latest suspense thriller from the dynamic duo of Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child; and "The Charnel Prince," a new flight in fantasy by Greg Keyes.
