BAE SYSTEMS Appoints Lee Hamilton to North America Board of Directors

ROCKVILLE, Md. -- BAE Systems has appointed Lee H. Hamilton to its North America Board of Directors. In this role, he will provide guidance and expertise on BAE Systems North America's strategic objectives.
"Given his outstanding service to the country in international relations and intelligence on the legislative side, Lee Hamilton brings a unique perspective to the BAE Systems Board of Directors," said Mark Ronald, chief operating officer, BAE Systems plc, and president and chief executive officer, BAE Systems North America. "BAE Systems welcomes his voice on foreign affairs and experience in economic policy."
Hamilton, currently president and director of the Woodrow Wilson International Center for Scholars, joins the BAE Systems North America Board of Directors after serving 34 years as a member of the U.S. Congress, Ninth District, Indiana. He served as Chairman and Ranking Member of the House Committee on Foreign Affairs, Chairman of the Permanent Select Committee on Intelligence, and Chair of the Joint Economic Committee. Hamilton most recently served as vice chair of the National Commission on Terrorist Attacks Upon the United States (also known as the 9-11 Commission).
Hamilton's service in government has been honored through awards in public service and human rights. Awards include the Knight Commander's Cross of the Order of Merit of the Federal Republic of Germany, the Paul H. Nitze Award for Distinguished Authority on National Security Affairs, the American Political Science Association Hubert H. Humphrey Award, the Department of Defense Medal for Distinguished Public Service, and the Defense Intelligence Agency Medallion.
Hamilton holds a J.D. from the Indiana University School of Law, as well as numerous honorary degrees. He currently lives in Washington, D.C. with his wife and three children.
