MELVILLE, N.Y. -- Commercial Real Estate Firm/Developer Implements IPStor for Centralized Management, Accelerated Backup and Recovery, and High Data Availability
FalconStor Software, Inc. (Nasdaq:FALC), a leading developer of network storage infrastructure software solutions, today announced that Hartz Mountain Industries, Inc. has implemented FalconStor's IPStor(R) Enterprise Edition software to provide centralized storage management and scalability, accelerated backup and recovery, and high availability to ensure uninterrupted access to their critical business data.
"IPStor has enabled us to greatly enhance our overall administrative procedures by allowing us to centralize and offload backup processes from production servers, and eliminating potentially detrimental storage issues," said Jeremy Kahn, AVP of Information Technology, Hartz Mountain. "FalconStor technology has clearly demonstrated its value to us by accelerating the backup of mission-critical data even during business hours, and by providing an effective disaster recovery plan with the ability to restore data immediately."
Hartz Mountain established specific IT criteria for evaluating available storage solutions. High availability, business continuity, consolidated storage and centralized management were mandatory services needed to support their heterogeneous infrastructure, including of a wide range of storage devices, messaging systems and databases, including Exchange, SQL 2000 and Oracle.
FalconStor's IPStor software fully met the real estate firm's stringent requirements. Hartz Mountain is now employing IPStor to manage its present storage requirements and expected 30% annual rate of data growth.
"Digital information grows rapidly for a commercial real estate organization such as Hartz Mountain, and the continuity, integrity and management of that information is critical," said Wendy Petty, FalconStor vice president of sales. "The flexible storage environment implemented by FalconStor provides Hartz Mountain centralized storage that is easily allocated as needed, with data replication and services providing high availability for continuous operations."
Transitioning Hartz Mountain from their previous direct-attached storage only environment to an IPStor managed SAN infrastructure enabled significant improvements in the backup process, with the ability to replicate data to and from remote sites.
