Chicago Magazine Names Chubb a Top Employer
Business Wire, Sept 15, 2004
CHICAGO -- Chicago magazine ranked the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies number two out of the top 25 places to work in Chicago.
Chicago magazine determined the 25 best employers in Chicago with the help of the Management Association, a non-profit group that advises employers on human resources issues. The rankings reflect the quality of each company's policies and practices in pay, benefits, perks, turnover, training and opportunity for advancement, diversity, work-life balance, employee voice in the workplace and community involvement.
Second only to a Chicago advertising agency, Chubb was recognized for its strengths in employee development, flexible work arrangements, employee diversity and community involvement in the magazine's October issue.
"Chubb workers are constantly stretching and learning, through technical training and courses on leadership, writing, presentation skills and more... Employee development is but one of Chubb's many strengths," states an article in Chicago magazine. Other benefits listed include: a "creative array" of flexible work arrangements; 100 percent tuition reimbursement for job-related courses and degrees; extended time off for new parents; "generous" paid time off; and "a commitment to community involvement through volunteer opportunities."
The magazine also noted that "Chubb strives to foster a culture of inclusion through monthly diversity initiatives." In Chicago, Chubb supports diversity and cultural understanding every month by organizing events like film screenings, guest speakers, workshops, ethnic cuisine and even special conferences.
The member insurers of the Chubb Group of Insurance Companies form a multi-billion dollar organization providing property and casualty insurance for personal and commercial customers worldwide through 8,000 independent agents and brokers. Chubb's global network includes branches and affiliates in North America, Europe, Latin America, Asia and Australia.
