Infowave Wins an IDG's Computerworld Annual Innovative Technology Award For its Mobile Technology
Business Wire, Sept 16, 2004
VANCOUVER, British Columbia -- Infowave Software (TSX:IW), a leading provider of enterprise mobile applications (EMA), today announced that it has won an award from IDG's Computerworld, the Voice of IT Management, for leading-edge technology that provides measurable business value to end-user organizations. Infowave's Telispark Mobile Enterprise(TM) product suite was among the winners in the category of Mobile and Wireless technology. This honor is part of Computerworld's third annual Innovative Technology Awards program, which was announced in the September 13 issue and online at computerworld.com.
In order to be considered for the awards program, vendors had to be nominated by IT end users that do not produce or sell technology. Nominees were surveyed regarding their technology innovations and customer references were contacted for each vendor. A panel of outside experts and Computerworld editors then reviewed the surveys and chose 30 winners in 12 categories, including data management, mobile/wireless, security and web site management.
"We are honored that our enterprise customers nominated Infowave for an award designed to reward customer satisfaction and meet deployment requirements and we are very pleased to be recognized by a leading industry publication like Computerworld," said Jerry Meerkatz, CEO and President, Infowave. "We will continue to focus on delivering enterprise applications to our customers that can be rapidly deployed and provide a quick and tangible return on investment."
Telispark Mobile Enterprise is a packaged suite of configurable applications designed to help large organizations service and manage complex equipment in the field or in a campus environment like warehouses and plants. Telispark Mobile Enterprise is composed of ten complementary "mix and match" modules that can be deployed quickly and securely to yield rapid-ROI applications that streamline and integrate business operations required by mobile workers, such as ERP, Field Service, Supply Chain, Asset Management and personal information management (PIM) operations. The suite's robust enterprise data connectors enable rapid and seamless integration with existing back-end data sources including SAP, Siebel, Indus and other leading application providers.
"Our award winners this year should be recognized for creating products that truly are revolutionary for their customers," said Don Tennant, editor in chief of Computerworld. "These companies have not only developed 'cool' products, but ones that solve real business problems and have produced measurable payback for customers."
