NovaStor & Partners Support Communities in the Path of Hurricanes With Online Data Backup Services & Donations to Victims; Storing Data Offsite Bolsters Disaster Recovery Protection, Saves Time
Business Wire, Sept 16, 2004
SIMI VALLEY, Calif. -- With a barrage of hurricanes pounding the Southeast, NovaStor Corporation and its service provider partners of online data backup services are offering to help systems integrators and resellers scrambling to protect their small business customers and home users safeguard their irreplaceable data offsite and out of harm's way. Several VARs and ISPs providing backup service based on the NovaNet-WEB(TM) online solution are reaching out to communities in the path of fury and donating a percentage of new subscriber proceeds to help hurricane victims.

"One of the reasons we have been so aggressively promoting online backup services is that having data stored offsite gives small businesses and consumers true disaster recovery protection from hurricanes, floods and power outages that might destroy local computers," says Peter Means, CEO at NovaStor. "We're very proud that our resellers are banding together to help potential victims take precautions that could save their business-critical data, personal records and other key data of daily life."
At least two NovaStor service provider partners have agreed to donate 10% of new account proceeds from Florida, Louisiana and other hurricane-stricken areas to local disaster relief agencies through the end of November. Both Midwest Tech Group, located in Michigan, and Volstate, Inc., located in Tennessee, are standing by to help businesses and households implement offsite storage with simple, Web-based account creation systems. NovaStor is urging other partners to join the campaign.
"Our mission is to help VARs, system integrators and other resellers easily protect their customers against data disasters," says Means. "It's important to let small businesses know that online backup exists as a complement or alternative to local storage solutions and that they can get up and running quickly and have more time free to secure their homes, offices and other property."
VolState can be reached at 866-753-8708 or www.estronghold.com and Midwest Tech Group LLC can be reached at 248/275-5245 or www.midwesttechgroup.com.
