Business Wire, Sept 21, 2004

VENICE, Italy -- Telcordia Technologies, Inc., a global provider of telecommunications software and services, today announced that Telecom Italia Sparkle and Datamat S.p.A have selected Telcordia(R) Negotiator and Telcordia(R) Expediter software products to accelerate order processing and speed new services to customers thereby helping increase revenue and profitability at Telecom Italia Sparkle.

Telcordia Negotiator and Telcordia Expediter are part of a new order automation platform offered by Telcordia that is powered by Telcordia's partner ConceptWave and provided through Datamat - an Italy-based system integrator and preferred partner of Telecom Italia Sparkle. Both Telcordia Negotiator and Telcordia Expediter provide a fully scalable, open architecture that facilitates orders and billing across services.

Telecom Italia Sparkle, headquartered in Rome, Italy, has a worldwide commercial presence for the provision of best cost, best performance services to the main players in the international telecommunication world including fixed and mobile operators, ISPs and, in synergy with Telecom Italia, multinational companies. The organization operates a multi-national network for many of its customers and also provides carrier-to-carrier networking.

"A number of Telecom Italia Sparkle's customers require complex, customized services. Telcordia and Datamat's solution provides scalable, open software that could work with a customer's existing system to handle complete flowthrough from order negotiation to provisioning," said Stefano Orlandini, Telco Division Director, Datamat. "Together with Telecom Italia Sparkle we selected Telcordia as the preferred supplier following a market analysis and intensive trial in October 2003, during which Telcordia proved its ability to exceed our expectations.

"The implementation of Telcordia software at Telecom Italia Sparkle will help them further embrace a customer- and service-centric perspective, rapidly seize new revenue opportunities and respond to challenging business conditions," said Mike Henderson, Group President, New Generation Systems, Telcordia Technologies. "As part of Telcordia's Elementive Portfolio, Telcordia Negotiator and Telcordia Expediter are the latest examples of how Telcordia's new, open, flexible and easily configurable product portfolio is helping carriers enhance network productivity and customer satisfaction, using a standards-based approach.

"This customer win is also part of Telcordia's Partner Program - in which Datamat joined as reference partner in Italy for Telecom Italia Group activities - using a structured process for selecting, managing and growing relationships into flourishing sources of revenue and influence in the marketplace," Henderson added.
