Florida Association of Mortgage Brokers Supports FBI Efforts to Reduce Mortgage Fraud in America

Business Wire, Sept 21, 2004

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. -- Van Johnson is the current President of the FAMB. In acknowledgment of recent FBI activity regarding stopping mortgage fraud nationwide, Mr. Johnson stated, "The FLORIDA ASSOCIATION OF MORTGAGE BROKERS (FAMB) fully supports the efforts of the Federal Bureau of Investigation in arresting and charging lawbreakers that are attacking our institutional lenders and America's consumers.

"Fraud schemers are forcing costs down to the average citizen as they prey on financial institutions and their investors. The FAMB has always been a proponent of swift enforcement of the laws that have long existed to protect the public and its financial institutions from these criminals.

"This association will remain vigilant and will continue to work closely with regulatory, law enforcement and justice agencies to bring about a quick and decisive resolution of this criminal activity."

The Association's Educational Foundation developed a special class to educate real estate professionals on identifying and reporting fraud in the mortgage loan process. Working to eliminate mortgage fraud has been a long standing objective of the FAMB.
