Word-of-Mouth ``Buzz'' and University Study Prompt Entrepreneurs to Offer Industrial Strength Stain Remover to Consumer Market

Business Wire, Sept 22, 2004

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. -- Erado-Sol(R) a/k/a Stain Rx(TM) Chosen Best Red Wine Stain Remover

For more than 40 years the world's leading healthcare providers and clinical laboratories have relied upon one product to remove stubborn stains from hands, lab coats, medical equipment and laboratory surfaces. Now the makers of Erado-Sol(R) are offering the industrial strength stain remover to wine enthusiasts, restaurateurs and homemakers throughout the country, aptly naming it Stain Rx(TM).

"We are introducing Stain Rx as a result of word-of-mouth buzz marketing created by loyal lab and healthcare customers, as well as its number one rating in two separate studies," said Gary Gold, co-CEO of Cambridge Diagnostic Products, a 50-year-old, family-owned in vitro diagnostic manufacturing company. "Although Erado-Sol has been available in healthcare facilities and labs, physicians, scientists and technicians were apparently taking it home to tackle their most difficult stains. As a result, we have been inundated with consumer requests for home use."

In a study of stain removers and home remedies, the University of California at Davis named Erado-Sol (Stain Rx) as the best commercially available red wine stain remover. Additionally, Food and Wine Magazine (October 2003) cited the product among its "125 Reasons We Love Wine" cover story as the most effective wine stain remover.

"We have known for years that Erado-Sol was effective at removing a variety of stains, especially berries, red wine, fresh blood, hair dye and iodine," said Roy Gold, Cambridge's co-CEO. "Now, we can offer this remarkable product to consumers as Stain Rx. We constantly receive letters and e-mails from customers sharing their stain removal stories with us, and we look forward to receiving more after Stain Rx hits the shelves."

In a recent testimonial, a customer in Seattle, WA wrote: "I learned about Erado-Sol as a lab technician at work and took it home after experiencing such great results. I use Erado-Sol when all other stain removers fail. It's unbelievable."

Like Erado-Sol, Stain Rx is a laboratory-grade product. It is safe to use on many fabrics, surfaces and hands. Best results are achieved when Erado-Sol is applied to a new stain. However, stains that have set typically can be removed. Erado-Sol's industrial-strength formula remains the same. Only the packaging has been modified for consumer sales.

Initially, the company plans to focus on mail order catalogs, gourmet and wine shops, e-commerce sites and housewares retailers. Stain Rx will retail for $7.99 for a 3-3/4 fl.oz. (110 mL) bottle; a 16-oz. mail-order size will sell for $9.99-$14.99. Instructions will be included.
