IDG'S Computerworld Recognizes Kalido with Annual Innovative Technology Award; Kalido's Adaptive Enterprise Data Warehousing Software Design is Honored
Business Wire, Sept 22, 2004
BURLINGTON, Mass. & LONDON, England -- Kalido, the leading data warehouse lifecycle management (DWLM) software provider, has won an award from IDG's Computerworld, the Voice of IT Management, for providing leading-edge technology that provides measurable business value to end-user organizations. This honor is part of Computerworld's third annual Innovative Technology Awards program, which was announced in the September 13 issue and online at computerworld.com.
KALIDO(R) software (KALIDO) for adaptive enterprise data warehousing is based on UK-patented (US patents pending) technology that automates data warehouse creation and maintenance through its business model-driven, flexible warehouse design approach - a crucial consideration for constantly evolving businesses. Its iterative approach allows IT to remain aligned with the changing needs of the business throughout the lifetime of a major project.
Computerworld showcases Kalido customer Intelsat's implementation of KALIDO in its 2004 Innovative Technology award winners special feature: www.computerworld.com/managementtopics/management/story/ 0,10801,95822,00.html.

The article quotes Pradip Sitaram, director of IT for business and operational support systems in Intelsat's ground and information systems department: "The hardest thing, normally, is that IT can't move fast enough. But in this data warehouse project the reverse was true. The business was not able to move fast enough for us in IT." More information on the implementation can be found on:

> Andy Hayler, founder and chief strategist of Kalido, added: "Traditionally, Global 2000 companies have had to make do with slow, cumbersome data warehouses that provide out-of-date and incomplete information to expensive business intelligence systems. Our goal has been to provide adaptive enterprise data warehousing technology that can help align IT capabilities with business objectives. We're honored that Computerworld has recognized our work."In order to be considered for the awards program, vendors had to be nominated by IT end users that do not produce or sell technology. Nominees were surveyed regarding their technology innovations and customer references were contacted for each vendor. A panel of outside experts and Computerworld editors then reviewed the approximately 270 surveys and chose 30 winners in 12 categories, including data management, mobile/wireless, security and web site management.
"Our award winners this year should be recognized for creating products that truly are revolutionary for their customers," said Don Tennant, editor in chief of Computerworld. "These companies have not only developed 'cool' products, but ones that solve real business problems and have produced measurable payback for customers. They should be congratulated for their ability to develop products that create new advantages and opportunities for both current and prospective Fortune 1000 customers."
