Business Wire, Sept 23, 2004
LOS ANGELES -- Many North American manufacturers, to compete more effectively in today's global economy, must enhance productivity and reduce costs by implementing automation solutions. To assist them, show producer CANON COMMUNICATIONS LLC is launching the Automation Technology Expo(TM) (ATX) June 13-15, 2005 in New York's Javits Convention Center. The show will co-locate with Medical Design & Manufacturing(R) (MD&M) East, EastPack(R), PLASTEC(R) East, and Atlantic Design & Manufacturing(R), further expanding the largest event of its kind on the East Coast.
Among the products and services that ATX will showcase, in addition to custom automation and motion control products, are control software, robotics, vision inspection systems, sensors, assembly systems, drives, and motors. According to CANON'S trade show director, Diane O'Connor, "ATX will be the definitive resource for automation solutions. There is simply no other show of this scope serving the Northeast's enormous manufacturing base."
David Walker, vice president for marketing and business development at the National Association of Manufacturers (NAM), confirms his group's estimates of more than 70,000 manufacturing establishments and nearly 2.5 million workers in the Northeast. These figures coincide with previous reports from the U.S. Census Bureau and the Bureau of Labor Statistics.
A host of leading edge suppliers have already signed on to exhibit at ATX, including ATS Automation Tooling Systems, Beckhoff Automation, Belcan Engineering Group, Bosch Rexroth Corp, ComTal Machine & Engineering, Delta Industrial Services, DENSO Robotics America, Dorner Manufacturing, DVT, EPSON Robots, Festo Corp, Flexlink Systems, GE Fanuc Automation, Haumiller Engineering, HIWIN, IAI-America (Intelligent Actuator, Inc.) ipd, Div.
