40/86 Advisors Appoints Brian J. Hamel as Director Of Marketing

CARMEL, Ind. -- 40|86 Advisors, Inc., a leading fixed-income asset manager and investment advisor, today announced the appointment of Brian J. Hamel as director of marketing. Hamel will lead the firm's marketing strategies and report directly to Eric Johnson, president of 40|86 Advisors.
Hamel joins 40|86 Advisors from Clarion Capital in New York, where as a managing director he was responsible for developing and directing the firm's marketing plans for the consultant and plan sponsor communities.
"I am confident that Brian's 19 years of experience and his skills marketing to the Taft-Hartley and consultant sectors will help us build our client roster," said Johnson. Before Clarion, Hamel held senior investment marketing positions at Globalt Investments in Atlanta and spent over 13 years at MetLife in Atlanta and New York, where he rose to the position of national director of sales of institutional investment services. There, Hamel was responsible for overseeing all national sales efforts to the corporate, public, Taft-Hartley, foundation and endowment markets as well as the TPA channels and the consultant community. Before that role, he was the director of sales for the southeastern region, which included seven states. Hamel began his investment marketing career at The Travelers where he was an account executive in the asset management and pension services division. At The Travelers, Hamel was responsible for marketing institutional investment management capabilities to plan sponsors and consultants in a four-state territory.
Hamel holds a bachelor's degree from Miami University, Ohio with a concentration in finance. In addition, he holds NASD Series 6, 26 and 63 licenses.
