Siemens Expands VAR Agreement with Objectivity, Inc

SUNNYVALE, Calif. -- With demand growing for its highly scalable mission-critical database, Objectivity today announced that Siemens Building Technologies, Inc., a leading building technologies company, has signed an expanded VAR agreement. With the VAR agreement, Siemens will expand its use of Objectivity/DB as a component in its APOGEE(R) building automation system. The APOGEE building automation system uses Objectivity/DB within its MS Windows-based front-end workstation.

A Sophisticated Solution for High Profile Customers

The APOGEE system offers open-protocol interoperability, including BACnet(TM), LonTalk(R), Modbus(R) and OPC(R). Multiple building systems can be controlled with one workstation, integrated to provide system-wide control and information. Features include Web access; remote notification by pager, phone or email; and applications such as graphic display, scheduling, alarm management and data trending. In the Siemens APOGEE system, Objectivity/DB is used to store network configuration information and collect historical data. The APOGEE system is currently deployed in a variety of markets, including: higher education, pharmaceutical, high-tech, commercial office, healthcare and government.
