TRADE NEWS: Agilent Technologies Introduces Tools at Intel Developer Forum that Speed Validation of Computer Products

Business Wire, Sept 7, 2004

SAN FRANCISCO -- Agilent Technologies Inc. (NYSE:A) today announced a line of products to speed the design and validation of computer products with fully buffered DIMM (FBD), serial ATA (SATA), serial attached SCSI (SAS), PCI Express and Intel(R) Pentium(R) 4 Processor products.

"With the introduction of technologies and standards that enable more memory and faster bus speeds, engineers face new debug and validation challenges," said Ron Nersesian, vice president and general manager of Agilent's Design Validation Division. "Agilent leads the industry in providing comprehensive suites of tools for FBD, SATA, SAS, PCI Express and Intel Pentium 4 Processor validation so engineers can design products with increased speed and improved communications demanded by today's marketplace."

Agilent's new validation products being demonstrated at IDF include the following:

--Agilent's industry-first comprehensive suite of test tools that provide designers complete visibility from the physical layer to the protocol layer for systems using FBD. The suite's eight products provide unprecedented visibility into an FBD system when combined with Agilent's logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, vector network analyzers (VNAs), bit error rate testers (BERTs) and pulse generators. More details about the FBD test suite are available at www.agilent.com/find/fbd.> --The Agilent N4219B packet analysis probe, the industry's first single-protocol analysis probe for SATA and SAS packet analysis, provides a convenient and reliable connection to a customer's DUT to debug a SATA-1, SATA-2 or SAS, speeding time to market for companies developing storage solutions. More information is available at www.agilent.com/find/n4219b.> --The Agilent E2960 Series with protocol analyzer, exerciser and compliance test card, the industry's most complete protocol testing tool portfolio for PCI Express. The series dramatically increases test coverage, quality and speed, allowing effective debug, test and validation of new designs like chipsets, add-in cards, computer systems and servers. More information is available at www.agilent.com/find/E2960_series.> --Agilent's E2969A protocol test card for PCI Express, which offers preprogrammed topology (BIOS) compliance tests in addition to existing add-in card compliance tests to help ensure that designs are high quality and compliant to the required standards. More information is available at www.agilent.com/find/E2969A.> --Agilent's remote management and keyboard, video, mouse (KVM) solutions, which support the first Intel(R) Xeon Processor at 3.60 GHz and the Intel(R) E7520 chipset. These comprehensive solutions eliminate the need for onsite server management staff, saving costs by enabling total remote control even if the server is powered down or a new OS installation is required. The products provide OEMs with a precustomized solution supporting the latest Intel architecture, eliminating time-consuming BIOS integration or lengthy customization cycles. More information is available at www.agilent.com/find/rmc.> --Agilent's E8045B analysis probe enables the connection of logic analyzers to the Intel Pentium 4 LGA775 processor. The probe's extremely low mechanical and electrical intrusion provide engineers unprecedented visibility into the Intel Pentium 4 Processor LGA775 designs to help reduce troubleshooting time and speed design validation and time to market. Additional information is available at www.agilent.com/find/processor_probes.> Additional information about PCI Express products is available at www.agilent.com/find/pci_Express.> About Agilent Technologies
