Constant Contact Partners With FTD To Deliver Do-It-Yourself Email Marketing Services to Florists
Business Wire, Sept 8, 2004
WALTHAM, Mass. -- FTD Member Florists Can Now Leverage Email Marketing for Building Customer Relationships, Marketing Unique Products and Services
Constant Contact(R), a leading Do-It-Yourself Email Marketing(TM) service, today announced an agreement with Florists Transworld Delivery Inc. (FTD), a leading provider of floral products and services supported by its worldwide brand, to provide FTD's florists with email marketing tools. Using Constant Contact's flexible platform, FTD's Mercury Technology, which allows florists to send and receive orders worldwide, is able to provide the integrated and customized Constant Contact tool to its member florists.
The Constant Contact service is customized as a new module in two new Mercury Technology platforms, Mercury(R) 6.0 and Mercury Advantage(R) 9.0. Florists using these platforms now have access to tools for creating and sending professional HTML newsletters and conducting promotional campaigns, with the added ability to track and manage their results. Access to Constant Contact's 85 customizable HTML templates (including 10 new templates customized for FTD florists), an easy-to-use email creation wizard, robust reporting and comprehensive list management capabilities will allow florists to increase both customer relationships and sales via personalized email marketing campaigns.
"With Constant Contact, we were able to create and implement a marketing campaign in far less time and at a fraction of the cost of direct mail, " said Ed Oman, co-founder Just Originals Flowers and More in Palm Harbor, Fla., an FTD florist. "I was amazed at the immediate customer response to our very first campaign - another benefit over other types of marketing. Email marketing has had a positive sales impact to both our fresh product sales and gifts ordered through our Web site."
As an added feature, Constant Contact works with FTD's customized florist Web site program called Florists' Online to offer personalization capabilities to each florist's marketing campaign. Florists using these Web sites will be able to import products and pricing directly from their site to their marketing materials.
"We are very pleased that FTD has chosen Constant Contact as an email marketing solution provider for its nationwide network of florists. It's great to work with companies who understand that adding email communications to the marketing mix will help maintain better relationships with existing customers and increase sales opportunities," said Gail Goodman, chief executive officer, Constant Contact.
