Fiserv and Innobeta Team To Bring Additional Products to Credit Unions and Community Banks; Strategic Alliance Will Increase Access to ATM Services and Streamline ATM Certification
Business Wire, Sept 8, 2004
BROOKFIELD, Wis. & SOUTH HACKENSACK, N.J. -- Innobeta Systems, Inc., a fast-growing transaction processing company, and Fiserv EFT/CNS, a unit of Fiserv, Inc. (Nasdaq: FISV), said they are forming a strategic alliance that will provide credit unions and community banks with easier access to a wide range of ATM products and services offered by the two companies.
Innobeta provides transaction processing and terminal driving services for credit unions, community banks and independent sales organizations (ISOs).
The agreement will give Innobeta customers access to a full range of transaction solutions by allowing Innobeta to resell Fiserv services, said Eric Park, Chief Executive Officer of Innobeta.
In addition, Fiserv will have increased front-end access to smaller deployers and ISOs, said Grant Christenson, Chief Executive Officer of Fiserv EFT/CNS.
"Our relationship with Innobeta ensures their community bank and credit union customers have one-stop access to the product and service solutions they need to compete effectively against larger competitors," Christenson said.
Under the agreement, 3,000 ATMs run by Innobeta will join ACCEL/Exchange, Fiserv's coast-to-coast electronic funds transfer network.
"Together, our ATM services are industry-leading, cost-effective, scalable and comprehensively fulfill the needs of the marketplace," said Tony Catalfano, President and Chief Operating Officer of Fiserv EFT/CNS. "It is always a pleasure to work with client-focused resellers like Innobeta."
"This agreement means three things to our credit union and community bank customers," said Innobeta's Park. "First, institutions that own ATM terminals driven by Innobeta can receive card authorization processing, card production and ATM processing - all from a single source. Second, Fiserv will be able to offer pre-paid media services - like money transfer, long-distance calling plans or prepaid cellular service - to their clients through Innobeta. And, third, Fiserv will be able to certify Innobeta's Nextran-brand terminals one time for multiple Fiserv processors."
Innobeta Systems, Inc. (www.innobeta.com) provides connectivity for ATMs to most national and regional financial networks via direct connects or gateways. Innobeta's unique approach to transaction processing utilizes secure Web-based reporting to allow for real-time monitoring of transaction traffic. This provides the ability to manage data in real time, increasing security and providing a better toolset for managing data.
Fiserv, Inc. (Nasdaq: FISV) provides information management systems and services to the financial industry, including transaction processing, business process outsourcing and software and systems solutions. The company serves more than 15,000 clients worldwide, including banks, broker-dealers, credit unions, financial planners and investment advisers, insurance companies and agents, self-funded employers, lenders and savings institutions. Headquartered in Brookfield, Wisconsin, Fiserv reported $2.7 billion in processing and services revenues for 2003. Fiserv can be found on the Internet at www.fiserv.com.
