Star Choice and AOL Canada Announce Agreement to Provide Customers with Accelerated Internet Service
Business Wire, Sept 9, 2004
CALGARY, Alberta & TORONTO -- New Netscape Online accelerated service up to five times faster, for less cost than standard dial-up services
Star Choice Communications Inc. and AOL Canada Inc. announced today an agreement to provide Star Choice customers with an exclusive offer for the Netscape(R) Online Accelerated Internet(TM) service - offered nationally in both English and French by AOL Canada Inc.
Star Choice customers will be offered unlimited accelerated dial-up Internet access for only $16.95 per month. Netscape Online is a new Internet service developed exclusively by AOL Canada to meet the demand for an affordable Internet access service in Canada.
"We are very excited about the opportunity to provide our customers with a differentiated Internet service solution, at an affordable price," said Michael Abram, President of Star Choice Communications Inc. "Our customers will find the service to be very customer friendly, fast, and convenient."
Netscape Online automatically compresses, optimizes and streamlines Internet content and email, providing a dramatic improvement in web-surfing and email speed over dial-up connections using a standard 56K modem. With no additional hardware to install, Netscape Online users find that web pages download up to five times faster than regular dial-up services. Star Choice customers will also benefit from the built-in pop-up advertising blocker, two e-mail boxes, spam filtering, and free 24/7 customer support included within the Netscape Online service.
"Star Choice has a reputation for bringing the best entertainment and the best services to their customers," said Craig Wallace, President and CEO, AOL Canada Inc. "We are very pleased to be working with Star Choice to bring the benefits of faster and affordable Internet access to subscribers across Canada."
Star Choice customers interested in ordering the Netscape Online service can visit www.starchoice.com or by contacting customer service at 1-888-838-1555.
