ADVISORY/Goodwill Southern California Holds Bridal Gown Super Sale; Proceeds Will Fund Programs for People with Disabilities or Vocational Disadvantages

LOS ANGELES -- Goodwill Southern California (GSC) recently received a donation of 2,000 brand-new wedding gowns from a local bridal shop. Before distributing them in its retail stores, GSC will host its first ever Bridal Gown Super Sale.

WHAT:     Bridal Gown Super Sale
          More than 2,000 brand-new designer gowns for brides,
          bridesmaids, flower girls and quinceaneras from $99 and up.

WHEN:     Saturday, April 9
          10 a.m. to 2 p.m.
          1 p.m. - Drawing for a free gown of your choice. Must be
           present to win.

WHERE:    Goodwill Southern California's Auditorium
          342 N. San Fernando Road, Los Angeles
          Free parking

WHO:      Open to the public

WHY:      More than 15,000 people with disabilities or vocational
          disadvantages benefit from Goodwill Southern California's
          education, job training and placement programs annually.
          The proceeds from this sale will fund these programs that
          help people find a job, earn a living and sustain their
          families.

GSC operates 43 stores, 36 attended donation centers, three campuses and seven community-based career resource centers in Los Angeles, San Bernardino and Riverside counties. Charity Navigator, an independent charity evaluator, gave GSC its highest four-star ranking for four consecutive years, because GSC spends 92 percent of its budget on programs that transform lives through the power of work.
