Cox Offers Enhanced Data Reporting for On-Demand Advertising Platform; Dailey & Associates and Tourism Australia among the First to Benefit; FreeZone Now Offers Industry Leading Data Metrics
Business Wire, April 11, 2005
ATLANTA -- Cox Media, the advertising sales arm of Cox Communications today announced that it has signed Tourism Australia as a new client for it's pioneering on-demand advertising platform - FreeZone. Tourism Australia and their agency, Dailey & Associates Advertising, are among the first Cox Media clients to enjoy enhanced data reporting on content viewership that give advertisers unparalleled insight into the success of their on-demand campaigns.
"As the ways in which consumers view television have continued to evolve in the digital landscape, Cox Media has led efforts to develop new and innovative advertising platforms that harness the new features and benefits of our Cox Digital Cable service for our advertising customers as well as our cable subscribers," said Billy Farina, senior vice president of advertising for Cox Media. "The advertising community has been asking for indices of measurement to gauge the effectiveness of on-demand campaigns, and we recognize that this is key to our success."
The data reporting capabilities of FreeZone now include the following metrics:
--Unique households viewing the content
--Average duration content was viewed
--Total views
--Share of enabled subscribers viewing the content
--Number of views per zip code
--Number of views per psychographic profile
--Propensity to view based on psychographic profile
--Number of views per day part
--Number of repeat views per household
--Share of active subscribers viewing the content
Presently, Cox is the only cable operator with an on demand advertising platform offering data metrics beyond the first four data points above. Clients can get reports on viewership daily, at the end of the campaign and at any frequency in between. For clients placing multiple pieces of content on FreeZone, Cox Media is also able to provide cumulative reporting.
"Dailey & Associates Advertising has made it a priority to stay on top of new technology-driven messaging opportunities and to employ them when they make strong strategic sense for our clients," said Brian Fisher, Sr. V.P. Group Media Director, Dailey & Associates Advertising. "Video on Demand (VOD) is of particular interest to us for many of our clients and for Tourism Australia, especially. On Behalf of Tourism Australia, we have been rolling out several VOD scenarios for testing purposes and believe Cox's expanded reporting capability make them an ideal partner for greater learning in the VOD arena."
FreeZone is now available to more than 1.1 million Cox Digital Cable subscribers in San Diego and Orange County, Calif., Las Vegas, Nev., New Orleans, La., Oklahoma City, Okla., Omaha, Neb.; Hampton Roads, Va.; Connecticut; and Rhode Island.
