FBI CTO Expertise at WorldView in May

On August 8, 2004 Mr. Israel reported for duty with the FBI as the Chief Technology Officer. Mr. Israel is responsible for developing new and emerging capabilities, using the latest information technologies to enhance all FBI IT lines of business. As the CTO, he is addressing the pivotal role technology plays in both solving and preventing hostile and/or criminal acts. He is devoted to easing the burdens today's IT systems pose on agents and enhance their abilities to "get the job done."

Before coming to the FBI, Mr. Jerome Israel was a 25-year veteran of the National Security Agency (NSA). For the past three and a half years, he served as the Technical Director of Analysis and Production. In that capacity, he participated in the planning and building of information architectures that manage high data volumes. His information technology experience includes strategy development, creating requirements processes, systems engineering, data model implementation, enterprise application integration, web services, and information assurance.

Prior to working as a technical director, Mr. Israel worked in the Internet security arena and supplemented his knowledge with industry certifications from Cisco (CCNA) and Microsoft (MCSE). He was employed for over 15 years as an intelligence analyst on a number of different NSA missions. This experience has made him particularly sensitive to the needs of users of technology.

Mr. Israel graduated from Indiana University in 1978 with a degree in Slavic Languages and Literatures and an Area Studies Certificate from the Russian and East European Institute. In 1998, he graduated with a Master of Science in Strategic Intelligence from the Joint Military Intelligence College in Washington, D.C. His thesis focused on Internet security.
