SeeBeyond Showcases Leading RFID Solutions at RFID Journal LIVE! 2005; Company Adds ConnecTerra and Raining Data to RFID Partner Portfolio; Demonstrates Joint Sun/SeeBeyond Supply Chain RFID Solution
Business Wire, April 11, 2005
CHICAGO -- Unlocking the ROI from radio frequency identification (RFID) technologies, SeeBeyond (Nasdaq:SBYN) today announced the expansion of its RFID partner portfolio with the addition of ConnecTerra, Inc. and Raining Data (Nasdaq:RDTA). This announcement coincides with SeeBeyond's presence this week's RFID Journal LIVE! 2005, being held April 10-12 at the Sheraton Hotel & Towers in Chicago, IL.
As a part of the conference, SeeBeyond will also showcase a demonstration of the interoperability between its technology and that from Sun Microsystems. Resulting from the companies' collaborative efforts in RFID, the joint demonstration simulates an application spanning a manufacturing-retail supply chain, targeted at improving business processes and quickly obtaining business insight from transformational data collected via RFID technologies. Based on a Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA), it is intended to provide customers with an end-to-end solution that addresses the specific business challenges facing retail supply chain companies while fully leveraging the power of RFID data.
Bridging Together Leading RFID Technologies
As the "spine" of an RFID infrastructure, the SeeBeyond RFID Composite Application Network offering enables easy bridging to other leading RFID technologies, providing customers with the ability to quickly deploy business-driven composite applications to accelerate ROI from their RFID investments. In addition to its strategic alliance with Sun Microsystems and other leading RFID solution providers including sbkLabs and Bent Systems, SeeBeyond has announced alliances with ConnecTerra and Raining Data.
ConnecTerra, Inc., a leading supplier of RFID infrastructure software, will work with SeeBeyond to provide a standards-based RFID composite application framework for building and deploying highly scalable, ROI-based RFID applications and infrastructure. Complementing the SeeBeyond offering, the ConnecTerra RFTagAware(R) RFID infrastructure software will provide the EPC Event Manager capability to enable the SeeBeyond platform to collect, filter and aggregate EPC events from hardware readers which can then be orchestrated into standards-based business process driven applications to drive added value from RFID deployments.
Raining Data, a leading XML Data Management, XQuery and Web Services technology provider, in conjunction with SeeBeyond, will provide solutions to manage and orchestrate the flow of data generated by RFID systems and integrate information from existing applications to generate collaboration among partners across the supply chain. Together the companies will provide a standards-based technology platform which collects, manages, and integrates RFID and sensor data with existing systems to enable applications such as: track and trace, product recall, advanced shipping and receiving reconciliation, and total inventory visibility.
