SEATTLE -- FEI and Denali FM Deliver First Comprehensive Online Training Course to Plan Sponsors
Denali Fiduciary Management (Denali FM) teams with Financial Executives International (FEI) to offer an online video training course designed to protect corporate executives, Board of Directors, and the retirement interests of employees. Acting as an interactive risk management tool, the course provides an in-depth look at corporate executives' fiduciary requirements, individual and corporate responsibility and liability, as well as a best practices approach to plan governance policies and procedures.
"Due to recent financial scandals and vendor investigations, the underperformance of the equity markets over the past few years, the rules for managing a retirement or 401(k) plan have changed," said Denali FM's CEO Wayne H. Miller, co-author of the course and the FACS(C) program.
"Fiduciaries need concise, comprehensive and user-friendly information on governance practices and retirement plan responsibilities. The course was designed as a convenient, low-cost solution to give fiduciaries an unbiased view into best fiduciary practices without reliance on current vendor relationships where conflicts of interest may exist," said Miller.
The web-based course takes participants through real-life challenges faced by executives who manage retirement plans including changes in plan management consistent with the requirements of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act as they apply to ERISA retirement plans. The training is designed to be completed in 4-5 hours. The course is open to all retirement plan fiduciaries, plan advisors and members of the legal, accounting, investment and retirement plan service providers. A video sample and registration is available at www.fei.org/erisa.
