Jacobs Receives a Contract from Florida Department of Transportation's Turnpike Enterprise

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. (NYSE:JEC) announced today that a subsidiary company received a contract from the Florida Department of Transportation's (FDOT) Turnpike Enterprise to perform construction engineering and inspection for 4.3 miles of Florida's turnpike in Orange County.
Officials did not disclose the contract value.
The project involves construction inspection, materials testing, contract administration, surveying, and landscaping to widen this segment of road from four lanes to eight. The project also includes replacing seven bridges and widening one bridge. As construction manager on behalf of the FDOT, Jacobs monitors and inspects the progress of the construction to ensure that the contractor complies with the plans, specifications, and special provisions of the contract. Other services include maintaining complete records of the construction process and documenting any significant project changes. Jacobs will prepare and certify final estimates and as-built plans upon project completion.
