Universal Express and Instant Passport Announce Agreement For Passport, Visa, and Birth Certificate Expediting
Business Wire, April 12, 2005
NEW YORK -- Universal Express Inc. (OTCBB: USXP), announced today that its subsidiary UniversalPost has formed a partnership with Instant Passport an expeditor of passports, visas, and birth certificates.
"Now that The Departments of State and Homeland Security announced the 'Western Hemisphere Travel Initiative' to secure and expedite travel and will also require all U.S. citizens, Canadians, citizens of the British Overseas Territory of Bermuda, and citizens of Mexico to have a passport or other accepted secure document to enter or re-enter the U.S. by January 1, 2008, passports have become a more timely issue. Our postal association members should be very busy with this program," said, Mr. Richard A. Altomare, Chairman & CEO of Universal Express.
"Instant Passport, one of the leading passport and visa expediting companies in the United States, is recognized as a leader in the industry by New York Times, Washington Post, Dow Jones Business Directory and Forbes Magazine. Customers can access their services locally around the U.S. through relationships with franchised and independent postal and photo shops nationwide and now UniversalPost member stores," concluded Mr. Altomare.
"The passport and visa service should be very profitable for our member stores. No up-front costs or additional overhead as well as increased revenues from our consolidated shipping rates, passport photos, and commissions make Instant Passport a natural extension to their core business," stated Linda Jacobucci, Co-Director of UniversalPost.
"Instant Passport is just another way for the postal stores to provide a viable and much needed service to their communities. Many of our member stores already offer passport photos, so this is a logical next step for added revenues," said Lauren Jackson Co-Director of UniversalPost.
Instant Passport callers, or visitors to the website (www.instantpassport.com or www.universalpostnetwork.com), are directed to the nearest instant passport member store by a zip code locator directory system. This partnership will extend Instant Passport services into neighborhoods across America. Our customers need local convenient access to express shipping, passport photos, fax, photocopies and notary services. UniversalPost member stores serve as a one-stop-shop for our customers," stated Eric Bulock, VP of Business Development of Passport Express Services, Inc.
