Gannett elects Board members, declares dividend

MCLEAN, Va. -- Shareholders of Gannett Co., Inc. (NYSE:GCI) today re-elected two members of the Board of Directors at the annual meeting held at the company's headquarters.
They are: Louis D. Boccardi and Donna E. Shalala. They were elected to serve three-year terms ending at Gannett's annual meeting in 2008. The two directors each received more than 99% of the votes cast.
Gannett's shareholders also ratified the appointment of Ernst & Young as the company's accountants for the 2005 fiscal year.
Two shareholder proposals were defeated.
The Board of Directors also declared a regular quarterly dividend of 27 cents per share, payable on July 1, 2005, to shareholders of record on June 3, 2005.
