Prosoft Announces Integration of CIW Curriculum Throughout Tennessee Public Education System; Schools Will Get Standardized Curriculum in 2006-2007 Academic Year

Business Wire, April 15, 2005

PHOENIX -- Prosoft Learning Corp. (Nasdaq: POSO), a technology learning solutions provider, today announced that the state of Tennessee Department of Education will integrate Prosoft's CIW certification skills objectives into its redesigned Web design classes. This action will bring the Official CIW Curriculum into about 200 of the state's public secondary schools beginning in the 2006-2007 academic year.

The three courses that high schools will teach are Web Site-Foundations, Web Page Design-Site Designer and Web Page Design-E-Commerce. These courses, which correlate 100 percent to CIW certification standards, will provide students with an advanced skill set when entering post-secondary education or the work force. The Tennessee Department of Education examined all available industry certifications and chose CIW based on industry support.

"The quality of the CIW curriculum is impressive. We are thrilled to incorporate it into our high schools' Web-design curriculum," said Will Lewis, director of curriculum and instructional improvement for the Tennessee Department of Education. "We're proud that everyone -- from administrators to educators to the Prosoft team -- came together to make this implementation a success."

Benjamin Fink, president and CEO of Prosoft, said, "The integration of Prosoft's CIW program into the statewide public education system definitely serves as a model for all states to emulate. We're excited that Tennessee is on the cutting edge of providing Internet curriculum to its students. We're also pleased that the state values the positive impact that CIW can have on the future of its youth, who will be able to transition successfully from the classroom to the workplace."

The integration of CIW curriculum across Tennessee's high schools will bring them into the existing statewide articulation agreement, which was finalized at the university level in April 2004. The articulation agreement now enables high school students to earn college credits toward an associate degree of applied science; those credits can then be transferred toward a bachelor's degree.

Students earn four college credits for each CIW certification exam they pass, giving them the potential to start college with 12 credits. The agreement also stipulates that educators teaching the CIW curriculum and administering the certification exam in Tennessee high schools must be CIW-certified.

Students who pass a CIW certification exam in class will earn an industry-recognized CIW certification. Those who choose not to take a CIW exam at their high schools may take it at a professional third-party testing center that administers CIW exams, such as Thomson Prometric or Pearson VUE.

"This articulation agreement acts to unify the statewide educational system," said Dr. Jim Bruns, vice president of academic and student affairs at Pellissippi State Technical Community College. "All of our schools will be aligned with each other, teaching the same curriculum to the same professional standards, and measuring achievement through the same assessment methodology."

The Official CIW Curriculum helps prepare students for today's highly competitive technology-driven job economy. As the world's largest industry-recognized job-readiness certification, CIW validates skills and knowledge proficiencies in a variety of IT disciplines, including Web site design, network administration, security and Web languages.
