Harris Teeter Will Deploy Web dSignShop For Sign Printing Technology; AccessVia Solution Will Provide Flexibility and Immediate Results for Regional Grocery Chain

Business Wire, April 15, 2005

SEATTLE -- AccessVia(R), the leading provider of automated sign printing solutions and electronic display technologies for retailers, today announced that the Harris Teeter food market chain has chosen Web dSignShop(R) to deliver sign printing capabilities across its enterprise of 138 retail stores in the southeastern United States.

Harris Teeter stores will use Web dSignShop to print in-store retail signs that feature up-to-the-minute item data. Using the corporate intranet, associates will quickly access batches of centrally designed signs or compose their own signs in the store using easy, predesigned templates. The Harris Teeter headquarters team will maintain control of sign layouts and the real-time item data to ensure design consistency and sign accuracy among all the stores. The deployment will require no new infrastructure for the chain, as stores will use existing printers and Web-connected PCs to print the signs.

Harris Teeter CIO Dan Bruni expressed confidence that Web dSignShop will help them accomplish a variety of strategic goals. "We're excited about the opportunities that Web dSignShop provides to respond immediately to our business needs, to reduce the amount of time and effort that associates spend signing the stores, and to improve our overall customer communications in aisle."

AccessVia CEO Dean A. Sleeper said, "Web dSignShop provides a distinct advantage for regional retailers like Harris Teeter. It gives them the robust visual merchandising tools they need to compete with the larger chains. At the same time, it's incredibly affordable and produces immediate results -- no long development cycles or integration hurdles. Just easy, reliable performance that adapts instantly to changing enterprise needs."

AccessVia Web dSignShop was recognized in both 2002 and 2003 as a Microsoft(R) Retail Application Developer (RAD) Award winner and has won the 2004 Microsoft EMEA RAD Award. The Microsoft RAD Award highlights the most innovative Microsoft-based software solutions for the retail and supply chain industries.

The AccessVia Print solution includes both Web dSignShop and dSIGN(R) to provide clients with accurate and attractive signs, shelf-edge labels, fact tags, coupons, and more. Web dSignShop is designed for retailers who want to use the Internet, an intranet, or an extranet to publish signs using a Web browser without installing or maintaining in-store software. dSIGN is built for classic client/server implementations and offers advanced product data delivery and unmatched integration with legacy systems. AccessVia also offers a solution for automated electronic displays, including customer-facing POS displays, self-service terminals, and kiosk applications for price verification, assisted shopping, endless aisle services, and gift registry.

AccessVia customers include Bed Bath & Beyond, Kroger, LCBO, Petco, Safeway, Staples, SUPERVALU, Target, and Walgreens.
