BEL-AIR and NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. -- Julie Shandy of Newport Beach and Timothy Hentschel of Bel-Air were married Saturday (April 16), in a Roman Catholic wedding ceremony performed by Father John McSweeney in the Rose-Garden-by-the-pool at Stonepine Estate Resort, the site of many celebrity weddings, nestled in 300 pristine acres of picturesque Carmel Valley, Calif.
The bride and groom arrived in a vintage Rolls-Royce to say their vows and departed in unhurried marital bliss in a horse-drawn carriage. At the reception, held around the hotel's giant waterfall and pool, guests dined on Chateau Noel Briand. The resort is owned and operated by the groom's parents, Noel Irwin Hentschel and Gordon Hentschel, who make their home in the Bel-Air section of Los Angeles. After an extended honeymoon in the Caribbean, the newlyweds will start their lives together in their new home in Newport Beach.
The bride, Julie, 25, a Pepperdine graduate, is Sales Manager for the Hyatt Hotel in Newport; and the groom, Timothy, 26, a Cornell University graduate, is CEO/President of the on-line company Hotel Planning.Com.
Mrs. Irwin Hentschel is CEO/Founder/Chair of the Los Angeles-based American Tours International, America's largest visit-USA tour operation in America, and also Chief White House Travel Advisor to the U.S. Secretary of Commerce; and Mr. Hentschel is the well-known investment entrepreneur and hotel owner-operator. Of the Hentschel's seven children, Timothy is the first to marry.
The bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Shandy, reside in Jackson Hole, Wyoming. Mr. Shandy is a retired real estate executive.
