2005 ''Magic Quadrant'' Positions Haley Systems In the Visionary Quadrant in Business Rules Market

Business Wire, April 18, 2005

PITTSBURGH -- Haley Systems, Inc., the technology leader in business rules management systems, today announced that Haley has been listed in the visionary quadrant in the Gartner Magic Quadrant for Business Rules Engines, 2005 (Gartner Research Note G00125811, February 8, 2005).

"Being at the forefront in the business rules market has always been one of Haley's core goals," said Paul Haley, Chief Technology Officer and executive vice president of Haley Systems. "Our customers continue to take advantage of our market-leading technology."

Need for Agility is Driving BRE Market

According to the report by Jim Sinur, Vice President and distinguished analyst at Gartner Research, "the increased emphasis on business agility is driving many organizations to BREs." He goes on to add, "The insatiable need for agility is changing the architectural principles and the technologies that IT departments must embrace."

Within the report Mr. Sinur comments, "Our consideration of vision also includes an assessment of how well each vendor's management team understands the technical and marketing issues, as well as its ability to innovate, differentiate its products and grow its business."

According to Gartner, vendors listed in the Visionary Quadrant have a clear vision of market direction and are focused on preparing for that, but they can still improve in terms of optimizing service delivery.

"We feel being positioned in the visionary quadrant from a prestigious firm such as Gartner is a testament to Haley's ability to continue to lead the industry with ground-breaking technology," said Mark Juliano, president and CEO of Haley Systems. "Our customers require that we continue to innovate as the needs of their businesses change."

Natural Language

HaleyAuthority's natural English language rule authoring capability remains a key differentiator of the Haley Business Rules Suite. This ability to capture rules in compound sentences uniquely enables both business and IT professionals to develop, maintain and execute business rules for their applications.
