Tundra Semiconductor Standardizes on MKS
Business Wire, April 18, 2005
WATERLOO, Ontario -- Streamlines Design Processes and Code Reuse
MKS Inc. (TSX:MKX) today announced that Tundra Semiconductor Corporation (TSX:TUN), a leader in System Interconnect, has standardized on MKS's enterprise software change and configuration management solution, the MKS Integrity Suite(TM), to streamline design processes, and to provide greater control, visibility, and code reuse across its geographically distributed research and development operations.
The MKS Integrity Suite is being utilized at the Company's headquarters in Ottawa, Ontario and South Portland, Maine. MKS provides Tundra's development team with centralized project management controls, real-time collaboration across development locations via the MKS Federated Server(TM) architecture, and increased security, audit-ability and traceability over all changes to Tundra's designs. By standardizing on the full MKS solution, Tundra benefits from:
- Centralized and improved change and configuration management visibility and control over all embedded development activity;
- The ability to create a library of components that can be commonly used across multiple projects and teams to quickly accommodate customer requested modifications;
- Improved development consistency through automated process and real-time, geographically dispersed team communication and collaboration;
- Greater accuracy and reproducibility of designs; and
- Enhanced security for designs assets and intellectual property
"In the wake of demanding time-to-market pressures on our customers, and the resulting growth in outsourcing of System Interconnect requirements," says Benny Chang, VP Engineering, Tundra Semiconductor. "MKS's SCM solution and process expertise is expected to streamline our design processes which should contribute to an increase in the overall quality of our product development."
"We are delighted to be working with Tundra Semiconductor to support their business imperatives of time-to-market and reproducibility. These are common challenges for telecommunications, automotive and semiconductor customers engaged in embedded systems development. MKS's enablement of code reuse and refactoring within the MKS Integrity Suite allows for new levels of control, efficiency and productivity in the embedded systems environment," says David Martin, MKS vice president of Product Management.
