Business Wire, April 19, 2005

ARLINGTON, Va. -- The Consumer Electronics Association (CEA) today announced that a digital imaging module has been added to the popular online retail training program, CEknowhow (www.ceknowhow.com). CompUSA and Good Guys Inc. have announced that they will add the digital imaging training to their company training intranets on May 1. The new digital imaging module is sponsored by CEA's Digital Imaging Special Interest Group (SIG) and was first displayed at the 2005 International CES, the world's largest annual technology tradeshow.

"Digital imaging products continue to be some of the hottest products in the consumer electronics market and knowledgeable retailers are crucial to consumers," said CEA President and CEO Gary Shapiro. "The CEknowhow.com retail training program is the best way to maximize the customer experience."

The module includes six initial chapters: 'Introduction to Digital Imaging,' 'How to Buy the Camera That's Right for You,' 'Editing Digital Images,' 'Printing Digital Images,' 'Sharing Digital Images' and 'Storing Digital Images.' These chapters are now live and the final chapter, 'Digital Camcorders,' will be available beginning May 1. Retail sales associates gain certification once they have completed all seven of the chapters.

"At CompUSA and Good Guys, we are dedicated to keeping our sales associates informed on the latest technologies," said Tom LaBadie, director of training and development at CompUSA. "CEknowhow's digital imaging training will be extremely valuable to both company's overall training efforts, providing an interactive and highly effective way for our team members to learn the advanced skills they need to best assist our customers."

CEA's CEknowhow.com retail training program launched in 2003 with a wireless module and now, along with digital imaging, also includes modules for: audio, digital television (DTV), home networking and mobile electronics. Designed to equip retailers with up-to-date product category training for sales associates, CEknowhow.com is customizable, allowing retailers to license and tailor the program to suit their particular needs. More than 24,000 sales persons completed training via CEknowhow.com in 2004.
