Manugistics' CTO to Speak at Atlanta Technology Executive Roundtable; Jeffrey L. Kissling to Share Expert Insight and Lessons Learned on Outsourcing and Offshoring
Business Wire, April 25, 2005
ROCKVILLE, Md. -- Manugistics Group, Inc. (Nasdaq:MANU), a leading global provider of synchronized supply chain and revenue management solutions, today announced that its Chief Technology Officer Jeffrey L. Kissling will share his experiences and lessons-learned in launching and leading offshore development activities at the Atlanta Technology Executive Roundtable on May 17 at the Buckhead Club, Buckhead, Georgia.
Presenting before 100 C-level executives from Atlanta's leading public, private and venture-backed independent software companies, Kissling will participate in a panel discussion geared for companies considering off-shore development in India or Southeast Asia. The session, entitled "Offshoring, Insourcing and Outsourcing," will address a variety of offshoring models, outline the global sourcing lifecycle from planning to execution to management, and share best practices and lessons learned.
"I am honored to share my insight, my experience and most importantly to be a part of the discussion on this imperative issue for local commerce seeking to compete in global business," said Kissling. "Technology companies wanting to succeed in today's dynamic global economy are balancing the vast resources and talent available domestically with resources throughout Asia and India. It is a development model that has proved very successful throughout my career."
Kissling brings a wealth of knowledge about outsourcing and offshoring issues to the panel. He was instrumental in launching Manugistics new Product Development Center located in Hyderabad, India. He oversees all Manugistics Development and Support Services. This includes leadership of the Manugistics' U.S.-based Innovation team and Manugistics India to develop best-of-breed solutions for the Retail, Consumer Goods, Government, Travel, Transportation and Hospitality industries. Prior to joining Manugistics last year, Kissling worked with global powerhouses such as IBM and Invensys/BAAN to develop their footprints in India and Asia Pacific.
"With spending expected to reach $65 billion worldwide by 2007, according to Gartner Group, offshoring accounts for a considerable slice of many enterprise's budgets. Manugistics is at the cusp of this growing trend, having already experienced great success in employing outsourcing, insourcing and offshoring strategies," said Jerry Malec, President of Impetus Technologies. "We are fortunate to have Jeff share his first-hand experiences and insight with the leaders of Atlanta's technology community who seek to drive their enterprises even further."
