Meeting Maker, Inc. Launches Arrival 2.0 Software Development Kit; Brings Customized Functionality to Popular Calendaring and Scheduling Solution
Business Wire, April 26, 2005
WALTHAM, Mass. -- New SDK Provides Enhanced Collaborative Scheduling Functionality with Web Services and New Scheduling Interface
Meeting Maker, Inc., a leader in collaborative time management software solutions, today announced the availability of the Arrival Software Development Kit (SDK) version 2.0, which operates on the Meeting Maker Millennium personal and group scheduling platform. Used by developers to integrate Meeting Maker Millennium into a portal, intranet or other applications, the Arrival SDK 2.0 provides enhancements to Web Services and Scheduling APIs that enable these developers to incorporate calendaring functionality into new or existing applications.
Intended for corporations and educational institutions with large scheduling requirements, the Arrival SDK simplifies the integration of the Millennium time management engine into other applications by using either Web Services or a Java based API Meeting Maker interface. This integration allows access to Meeting Maker data and general scheduling functionality for any application capable of reading and writing industry-standard SOAP (Simple Object Access Protocol) -formatted XML. The Arrival SDK is a flexible, cross-platform solution that can be deployed on the Windows, Macintosh, Linux and Solaris operating systems.
"The Arrival SDK has been a crucial tool for us because it has enabled us to incorporate an essential collaborative calendaring component to our portal that was previously missing," said Randy Haskin, director of applications development at the Duke University Fuqua School of Business. "Previously, our students, faculty and staff had to log in multiple times to access the various events displayed within our portal. Using the Arrival SDK, our developers have been able to seamlessly integrate the various scheduling approaches and create a single web interface from which our users can simultaneously view and integrate their personal calendars and university events quickly and efficiently."
"Meeting Maker, Inc.'s strength is providing innovative calendaring and scheduling solutions that enhance and improve an organization's time management capabilities," said John T. Anderson, president and CEO of Meeting Maker, Inc. "Because portals and intranets have become the primary means of information distribution within universities and corporations, integrating the time management component to these applications is a natural fit. Arrival 2.0 adds this collaborative component, providing the ability to easily access and manage calendars throughout an organization all from a central location."
The Meeting Maker Internet Connection Engine (ICE) is the core of the Arrival SDK and the broker of data between specially developed client-type applications and the Meeting Maker server. This module responds appropriately to Web-based queries, searching the Meeting Maker servers for data, packaging it into an XML format and sending it to a Web-based application. A client only needs to be able to process an XML document/stream in order to communicate with the Meeting Maker server. The two types of access are the loose coupling with SOAP applications and tight integration with Scheduling API.
