Intermix Media Extends Reach Through Content Syndication; Creates Greater Advertising Opportunities to Reach Motivated Consumers

Business Wire, April 26, 2005

LOS ANGELES -- As more and more people personalize the Web, many are turning to RSS (Real Simple Syndication) feeds to quickly and easily access information and content from news and entertainment sites. E[acute accent]To capitalize on this trend, Intermix Network, LLC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Intermix Media (AMEX: MIX) announced today that it has started publishing a daily RSS feed of its original content from a number of its web sites, including their inspirational, humor and greeting card content. E[acute accent]Intermix Network currently reaches 27 million unique visitors per month. Through the use of RSS feeds, users can receive Intermix's daily content automatically, thereby broadening Intermix's distribution and providing an additional platform for advertisers who are looking to reach a large targeted audience. E[acute accent]"We expect the adoption of RSS to deepen our relationship with our customers and enhance the appeal of our original content," said Richard Rosenblatt, CEO, Intermix Media. "We believe this will translate into value for both our member-base as well as our stockholders as we look to increase advertising impressions and revenue opportunities." E[acute accent]Intermix believes that RSS represents the next evolution in the distribution of content. It allows publishers and end users alike to be seamlessly notified of new content and to integrate that content into start pages, blogs and web sites. E[acute accent]On March 22, 2005, Slashdot.org released the findings of a survey of its readers regarding RSS feeds. The open-source organization found that 73 percent of its readers will increase their use of RSS feeds in the next year, and that most will rely on mobile and other devices to receive RSS feeds, pointing to the growing trend toward serving the needs of Web connected mobile consumers. E[acute accent]"The proliferation of broadband in the home, as well as new Internet ready mobile devices, including PDAs, Wi-Fi hot spots, SMS messages and other technologies should help drive support and rapid growth of RSS," noted Rosenblatt. "Intermix is pleased to be bringing this capability to our customers, advertisers and partners."
