PacifiCare Extends and Expands Amisys Synertech Agreement for BPO Services; Adds HSA, FSA and Debit Card Processing

ROCKVILLE, Md. -- Amisys Synertech Inc. (ASI) and PacifiCare Health Systems Inc. (NYSE:PHS) have agreed to a two-and-a-half-year contract extension for business process outsourcing (BPO) services to support PacifiCare's Self Directed Health Plan in California, Arizona, Nevada, Colorado, Oregon, Washington, Texas and Oklahoma. ASI, the market leader of in-depth software products and advanced outsourcing and claims processing services for healthcare payers, will continue to provide BPO services to PacifiCare through June 2007.

PacifiCare is one of the nation's leading health and consumer services companies, serving more than 3 million health plan members and approximately 9 million specialty plan members nationwide.

Expanding upon current BPO services being delivered, ASI will begin providing debit card administration as well as HSA and FSA processing for PacifiCare's Self Directed Health Plan. HSA and FSA administrative services provided by ASI will include enrollment management, claims processing and adjudication, account and contribution management, web services and reporting. ASI will also perform member services for PacifiCare's HSA and FSA products.

ASI will continue delivering mailroom processing, data capture and validation services, claims and adjustment processing, authorization entry, and fulfillment services for PacifiCare's 85,000 Self Directed Health Plan members. In addition, ASI will continue to provide customer service for members and employer customers as well as providers.
