ObjectVideo and IPIX Bring 360-Degree Intelligent Video Surveillance To Market; Technologies Offer Advanced Panoramic Threat Detection

Business Wire, April 6, 2005

LAS VEGAS -- ObjectVideo(R), the leader in intelligent video surveillance software, and IPIX Corporation (NASDAQ: IPIX), a premier supplier of 360-degree, immersive imaging technologies, announced today an OEM partnership to bring 360-degree intelligent video surveillance solutions to market. The combined technologies simultaneously identify potential threats in all directions and can pan, tilt and zoom in on objects of interest.

"IPIX's fisheye lens technology enables customers to view a truly accurate, 360-degree picture of their perimeter with correct proportions and a detailed view in any direction," said Bruce Thompson, VP of Corporate Development for ObjectVideo. "Together, our technologies offer the most advanced panoramic threat detection solutions."

IPIX CommandView(TM) products, breakthrough network camera technologies and digital video surveillance systems, provide the means of performing digital pan, tilt, rotation, and magnification electronically within an immersive field of view, without any moving parts. The technology produces a high-resolution, 360-degree view of a region of interest that can be viewed and recorded in all directions concurrently with no blind spots. Additional features of the IPIX CommandView product line include multi-megapixel resolution; the ability for users to view different areas within the same 360-degree scene simultaneously; and a remote, secure viewing capability.

"ObjectVideo's expertise in threat detection, in combination with IPIX's patented, immersive surveillance technology, provides security directors a more robust solution for monitoring at-risk environments with fewer cameras and less personnel," said IPIX President and CEO Clara Conti. "Automated, intelligent threat detection of a continuous, 360-degree field of view ensures potential threats are never missed."

ObjectVideo's intelligent video analysis algorithms run all objects in a camera's view against pre-programmed rules. When an object violates a rule, for example, a person crosses a tripwire, a small boat loiters next to a ship, or a bag is left unattended in an airport terminal, the software alerts security personnel by phone, pager, email or an alert console.

Customers of ObjectVideo's technology include the Department of Homeland Security's Customs and Border Protection Bureau, the Department of Defense, the U.S. Air Force, the Department of Energy, the Port of Jacksonville, Port of Everglades, Miami International Airport and a variety of private sector businesses.

Security directors interested in a demonstration should visit ObjectVideo at ISC West 2005, booth number 23011, Sands Expo & Convention Center, Las Vegas, April 6-8 or contact Bruce Thompson, Vice President of Corporate Development for ObjectVideo, at 703.654.9318 or bthompson@objectvideo.com.
