European Parliament Streamlines Multi-Language Publishing with Arbortext Enterprise Publishing Software
Business Wire, April 6, 2005
ANN ARBOR, Mich. -- Arbortext, the leading provider of Enterprise Publishing software, today announced that the European Parliament is using its software to create and publish the Official Journal of the European Communities. This journal is published in 20 key languages and supports 25 member countries that represent almost half a billion citizens.
The Office for Official Publications of the European Communities was looking for a system that allowed for content creation in non-Latin languages, enabled content reuse across multiple publications, and improved processing and production times. Using Arbortext software, the European Parliament has realized considerable savings per year in the content creation and publishing process, including reducing production time by 30% and processing time by 95%.
According to Michel Brogard, Manager of the Official Journal Department, "We needed to find a technology that would handle the complexity of our specific requirements. With Arbortext software we have built a system that supports the huge increase in published pages due to increasing language requirements without requiring additional personnel or budget resources."
"We offer government groups like the European Parliament the unique capability to create, manage and deliver government publications that are accurate, relevant and timely," said Raymond Schiavone, President and CEO at Arbortext. "We're proud to continue our work with the European Parliament as they build and implement a content creation strategy across its organization."
