TVI Corporation Receives ISO 9001:2000 Certification; Certification Represents Key Component of Long-Term Strategic Manufacturing Plan
Business Wire, April 8, 2005
GLENN DALE, Md. -- TVI Corporation (NASDAQ: TVIN), a global supplier of rapidly deployable first responder systems for homeland security, hospitals, police and fire departments, the military and public health agencies, today announced that the Company has received ISO 9001:2000 certification from the International Organization for Standardization (ISO).
"Receiving ISO 9001:2000 certification is an important milestone for TVI as we strive to meet and sustain the highest quality standards in delivering innovative products to our customers," said Rick Priddy, President and CEO of TVI Corporation. "This certification of our entire manufacturing operation provides us with specific measurements to ensure continued reliability across the spectrum of our critical first responder systems."
The scope of approval of the TVI certification reflects the Company's various segments, including: the design and manufacture of decontamination systems, filtration systems, powered-air respirators, infection control and patient isolation systems, and infrared marking and signaling systems.
ISO is a global federation of national standard making bodies. Its primary purpose is to assist companies of all types in developing the highest quality business management systems.
Recognized by more than 150 countries, the ISO 9001:2000 Quality Management System standard places more emphasis on customer satisfaction, management responsibility, continual improvement and organizational performance measurement. In March 2005, Intertek Testing Services NA, Inc., an accredited third-party quality system Registrar, conducted an extensive audit of TVI's quality management systems, based on the ISO 9001:2000 Standard. TVI's systems passed the audit and the Company is now a registered Intertek client.
