Quest Software Wins Industry Awards at Microsoft Tech-Ed 2005 Europe; Quest MessageStats and Quest Central for SQL Server Named Best of Tech-Ed 2005 Europe by Windows IT Pro and SQL Server Magazine
Business Wire, August 1, 2005
IRVINE, Calif. -- Quest Software Inc. (Nasdaq:QSFT), a leading provider of application, database and infrastructure management solutions, is pleased to announce that two of its software products have been honored in the Best of Tech-Ed 2005 Europe Awards. The awards were presented in Amsterdam, The Netherlands. Quest MessageStats won in the Messaging category and Quest Central for SQL Server in the Data Management Solutions category. Winners were chosen by technical editors from Windows IT Pro and SQL Server Magazine from a field that included more than 95 entries in 10 categories.
MessageStats effectively gathers and reports on Exchange metrics to assist with capacity management, operational tuning, understanding business usage and confirming effective service delivery. The product is used today to manage more than 5 million mailboxes worldwide.
"E-mail has become one of the most important technologies for the enterprise, and Quest MessageStats provides countless reporting and analysis opportunities that help the Exchange administrator understand and manage e-mail usage and trends," said Mike Otey, senior technical editor for Windows IT Pro and SQL Server Magazine. "These reports provide the administrator with information to support e-mail planning, auditing and analysis, and they include information to support capacity planning, policy compliance and migration from earlier versions of Exchange."
Quest Central for SQL Server helps DBAs optimize database performance by quickly finding and fixing SQL coding, space and configuration problems. Designed to give DBAs an exceptional level of both real-time and historical insight into Microsoft SQL Server databases, Quest Central for SQL Server automates performance diagnostics, performance change tracking, database and SQL tuning, and also facilitates space management.
"The breadth of the product and the ability to drill down on specific time intervals and determine bottlenecks, as well as the ability to automatically enhance/improve performance in various areas, was particularly impressive," commented Mark Anderson, chairman of VBug UK, who judged this category for the magazines.
"Awards such as these continue to demonstrate the depth of high-quality solutions that we offer to our customers that rely on Microsoft solutions throughout their enterprise," said Aggie Haslup, vice president, worldwide marketing, Quest Software. "It is wonderful for us, as a global company, to be recognized in Europe. This is a strong testament to both our products and our European team."
