The Progressive Corporation Announces Investor Relations Conference Call

MAYFIELD VILLAGE, Ohio -- The Progressive Corporation (NYSE:PGR) will host a one-hour conference call on Tuesday, August 9, 2005, beginning at 9:00 a.m. eastern time. The Company's second quarter 2005 Quarterly Report on Form 10-Q will be available on Monday, August 8, 2005, along with the posting of its Shareholders' Report online. Under the Company's conference call format, the Company will not make detailed comments in addition to these published reports, but management will respond to questions at that time.
