Johnson Outdoors to Consolidate EDI Systems with SPS Commerce; Leading Outdoor Recreation Products Company to Outsource its EDI and Integrate the Hosted Service with its JD Edwards Applications
Business Wire, August 10, 2005
MINNEAPOLIS -- SPS Commerce, the leader in hosted Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) software, announced today that Johnson Outdoors Inc. (Nasdaq:JOUT) has selected the SPS solution as its corporate-wide standard for all of its EDI. Starting this fall, Johnson Outdoors will begin a total company migration to the SPS service, replacing all existing EDI software, and integrate the EDI solution with its Oracle JD Edwards software. Upon completion, the rollout will connect Johnson Outdoors to more than 100 retailers and other trading partners.
"As our business expanded and customer EDI requirements grew increasingly more complex, we concluded that a common EDI solution across our business portfolio was needed," stated Jerry Perkins, president and chief operating officer at Johnson Outdoors. "We looked at the solutions currently in place across our operations, and it very quickly became clear that a hosted EDI service was more efficient and ultimately a more effective use of our resources. By outsourcing EDI operations, Johnson Outdoors can increase speed to market with new customers and react more quickly to new technologies. As a leading hosted EDI provider for many of our leading customers, SPS Commerce was a proven and natural choice."
"All of us at SPS Commerce welcome Johnson Outdoors to our community," said Archie Black, chief executive officer of SPS Commerce. "Since 1996, we've excelled at offering a reliable alternative to traditional EDI software. We look forward to migrating Johnson Outdoors to our services in the coming months and enabling them to reap the benefits of a hosted EDI service."
