Business Wire, August 10, 2005
EGHAM, United Kingdom -- Tekelec (NASDAQ: TKLC), a leading developer of telecommunications products for next-generation fixed, mobile and packet networks, today announced that UK telecommunication systems provider, Voicenet Solutions, is deploying its Voice over IP (VoIP) service over the Tekelec 6000 platform. The Tekelec 6000 VoIP Application Server will provide Voicenet Solutions with a fast path to IP Centrex service delivery by providing IP telephony customers with easily accessible, enhanced communication solutions.
Voicenet Solutions selected the T6000 VoIP Application Server to support its multiple layers of resellers in the provision of VoIP services to companies of all sizes. The T6000 is an integrated, scalable, standards-based solution that delivers a variety of revenue-generating applications out of the box and works with a wide range of network equipment and protocols. With the T6000, service providers can reliably support a practically unlimited number of customers with their own secure configurations and customised feature sets.
"We adopt a best-of-breed approach to the products we offer to the business market," said David Crombie, CEO at Voicenet Solutions. "We reviewed a number of suppliers but found that the Tekelec 6000 VoIP Application Server included a number of unique features, such as support for legacy systems, which no other vendor was able to offer. The T6000 is a highly efficient, cost-effective solution which will ensure that Voicenet Solutions and its resellers can continue to lead the market in the delivery of VoIP services."
More than 75 service providers around the world have chosen the Tekelec 6000 either integrated with other Tekelec switching products or as a stand-alone solution to introduce new, next-generation business and residential services. T6000 is a market-leading solution, accounting for approximately 10 percent of 169,000 IP Centrex lines shipped worldwide for the third quarter of 2004 (iLocus/Mercator).
"The market for VoIP is really taking off in Europe," said Wolrad Claudy, managing director, EMEA, Tekelec. "The T6000 will enable Voicenet Solutions to meet the growing demand for VoIP services. We look forward to building a long and successful partnership with the company."
