Exostar Marks Five-Year Anniversary; Industry Leader Continues Growth with New Services and Customers
Business Wire, August 10, 2005
HERNDON, Va. -- Exostar, the secure collaborative business network, has been connecting global manufacturers with their trading partners and extended supply networks for five years. The company projects strong expansion of services and customers over the next five.
Exostar survived--even flourished--during the burst of the tech bubble. The company estimates that more than 50,000 professionals now use its solutions to tap into their supply network and enhance secure external interoperability and collaboration transactions. In a business climate where global design, multi-party work groups and 24/7 business processes are a necessity, Exostar's success is all the more significant.

"When Exostar was founded, it provided a ground-breaking idea compared to the traditional supply chain working model," Exostar Chief Executive Officer Bill Angeloni said. "Through the company's history, the Exostar team--working closely with our customers--has continued to innovate and deliver secure on-demand solutions that are helping power the full spectrum of business processes from product development to aftermarket sales and support."
In 2004, Exostar doubled its customer base over 2003 figures and now operates in 22 countries. Currently, nearly 20,000 companies conduct over 700,000 transactions every month with Exostar, growing transaction volume by a factor of eight over the last 25 months. Exostar's supplier network supported business valued at more than $12 billion in 2004, and the company expects to grow that figure to $20 billion in 2005.
The design collaboration customer base for Exostar's ForumPass solution also grew and it now encompasses more than 3,500 participants across over 300 companies globally. Major programs such as the Boeing Company's 787 Dreamliner, Rolls-Royce Trent 900 engine, and BAE SYSTEMS' JSF Supplier Management System currently use ForumPass with its secure WebEx functionality to facilitate engineering collaboration and program management.
Exostar continues to enhance its offerings, adding new capabilities to its secure on-demand procurement, collaboration, and sourcing solutions. Last month the company announced a joint venture with SITA and ARINC to offer CertiPath - the first commercially managed identity management infrastructure.
CertiPath will provide capacity for customers such as The Boeing Company, Lockheed Martin, BAE Systems, Raytheon, and Northrop Grumman to assure the identity of suppliers and partners across distributed networks and ensure secure transactions and collaboration.
"We are constantly finding more ways for our customers to save time and money and improve the way their enterprises perform the increasingly important business processes that occur outside their four walls," said Angeloni. "Exostar's integrated, on-demand architecture allows customers the flexibility to add new components as their businesses grow or change. Business has never been more dynamic, and Exostar is committed to developing new ways to support our customers during these exciting times."
