The Weinstein Company Signs Palisades Media Group for Media Buying

NEW YORK, N.Y. -- The Weinstein Company and Palisades Media Group have reached an agreement for Palisades to oversee all of the company's media buying and planning. The Weinstein Company is the new multi-media company created by Bob and Harvey Weinstein, who co-founded Miramax Films in 1979. The joint announcement was made today by Harvey Weinstein and Palisades Media Group Chairman and Chief Executive Officer, Roger Schaffner.
The agreement marks a new chapter in the long relationship between the Weinsteins and Palisades Media Group, which handled Miramax's account from 1996 until April 2003, and resumed media buying and planning for the company in 2004.

ABOUT THE WEINSTEINS
Bob and Harvey Weinstein founded Miramax in 1979. On March 29, the Weinsteins, Miramax and The Walt Disney Company announced that they had reached a mutual agreement concluding the Weinsteins' employment contract with Disney. Since the announcement of their separation from Disney and Miramax, the brothers have been working actively on the production, development and acquisition of projects for The Weinstein Company. They will remain co-chairs of Miramax on a non-exclusive basis through September 30, 2005.
Since the separation agreement, the Weinsteins have acquired the following titles to be released by The Weinstein Company: "Decameron," "Last Legion," "Young Hannibal," "Hoodwinked! The True Story of Red Riding Hood," "Transamerica," "Nomad," "Outlander," "Stormbreaker," "Lucky Number Slevin," and "The Promise." Other titles to be released by The Weinstein Company include "Derailed," "Wolf Creek." "Mrs. Henderson Presents," "Kill Bill: NC 17," "Breaking and Entering," "Scary Movie 4," "Matador," "Sin City 2," "Pulse," "Passion of The Clerks," "Come Closer," "Unknown," and "Grind House," a groundbreaking film that will unite two of the world's most legendary filmmakers Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez, who will each write and direct their own 60-minute feature horror film.
